Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Night shift Nurse Aide for the Medical Surgical unit. You will support bedside care, monitor vital signs, and assist with meals and patient transport in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requirements include HS diploma or GED, CPR training, and certified nurse aide experience or enrollment in a BSN program. On-site role with rotating weekends and holidays, within a leading nonprofit academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Previous Nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program or currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing.
• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients.
• Deliver meals and provide safe transport for patients.
• Provide compassionate patient focus and assist under RN supervision.
• Record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure.
• Collaborate with Nurses and ICU Technicians to maintain patient care.

• Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure.
• Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care.

This is a full time night position- Rotating weekends and holidays

Preferred Criteria

• At least one year of experience as a certified nurses aid.

Required Criteria

• Previous Nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program or currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing, at the junior year level or had completed at least one clinical practicum.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association required.
