Job summary

Mulhalls in Omaha seeks a Nursery Yard Leader to drive a high-performing team and lead all Nursery Yard operations. You will model our core values, keep the sales floor stocked, and foster an inclusive, passionate, and fun work environment in line with our vision to be the most loved plant shop in the country.

You will recruit and train staff, champion the LOD program, and guide customer-focused sales while maintaining healthy plants and strong partner relationships.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing a team.
• 3+ years of experience in retail or a related field.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
• A natural leader, comfortable with praise and candid feedback.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with a positive approach under pressure.
• Confidence with perennials, trees, and shrubs of Omaha.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a large team and model effective management aligned with our values.
• Champion the LOD program for dependable leadership across the team.
• Recruit, schedule, and train staff to maintain staffing levels per our Hiring Tracker.
• Drive sales through training and customer-focused behaviors that close deals.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

As the leader of our Nursery Yard team, you'll report to the Head of Mulhalls Garden + Home. You'll be accountable for the outcomes of all things related to the Nursery Yard, from modeling Our Customer Journey from start to finish and keeping the sales floor fully stocked to fostering a work environment that is inclusive, passionate, and fun - all in line with our vision to be the most loved plant shop in the country.

YOUR IMPACT

• Lead and develop a large team, and model what it means to be a manager in line with our Purpose, Vision, and Core Values
• Champion our LOD program, modeling what it means to be a LOD our entire team can depend on
• Recruit, schedule, and train a remarkable team, maintaining department staffing levels in line with our 52-week Hiring Tracker, considering attrition
• Drive sales through exceptional training by equipping your team with the knowledge, tools, and customer-focused behaviors to confidently guide customers and close the deal
• Keep the Nursery Yard thriving by maintaining healthy, well-stocked plants, minimizing loss, and ensuring customers and Pro partners can find and get what they need

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of experience managing a team
• 3+ years of experience in retail or a related field
• Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills
• A natural leader, as comfortable with praise as they are with candid, critical feedback
• The ability to manage multiple competing priorities with a consistently positive response to pressureAn uncompromising eye for organization and customer experience
• Confidence in working with and providing direction on the perennials, trees, and shrubs of Omaha
