Job summary

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the GM in delivering best-of-class customer service across store operations. The ASM will lead assigned operations or customer service duties, supervise staff, and safeguard inventory, expenses, and safety while driving sales and profitability in a busy nursery environment.

The role emphasizes training, staff development, merchandising, and effective communication with customers and team members.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in retail operations.
• Experience in a supervisory or lead role is required.
• Experience in a nursery, landscaping, or related environment preferred.
• Solid management skills and basic HR/sales fundamentals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a full-service MVN retail nursery operation.
• Own assigned Operations or Customer Service duties and responsibilities.
• Ensure safe, clean, and welcoming store environment with high service standards.
• Train and develop store management and staff; monitor training.
• Control losses, expenses, payroll, and turnover; manage inventory and merchandising.
• Assist in POS transactions, warranties, and store administration.
