Job summary

Centra Health is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead a hospital unit as a clinical leader, ensuring quality patient care and safe operations. The RN will manage daily activities, staff development, and budget adherence in collaboration with the Department Director.

The role requires strong knowledge of nursing ethics, Virginia Nurse Practice Act, and ANA standards, with accountability for 24-hour unit operations and a healthy work environment.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Familiarity with ANA Code of Ethics, ANA Scope of Standards for Nurse Administrators, and Virginia Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership in the daily function of a unit and oversight of quality patient care delivery.
• Plan, organize, schedule, monitor and lead the work of individuals and groups to attain desired results.
• Select and develop staff to promote a healthy work environment.
• Facilitate Centra’s organizational and nursing strategic plan; maintain quality and safe patient care; promote a service-oriented environment; and operate within budgetary guidelines.
• Integrate the tenets of the Professional Practice Model in unit operations.
• Ensure practice reflects the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Scope of Standards for Nurse Administrators, and the Nurse Practice Act of Virginia.
• Maintain 24-hour accountability for the unit.
