Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to provide clinical leadership on the unit and oversee quality patient care, in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager. The role leads nursing practice, supports Purposeful Hourly Rounding, and ensures a safe, patient-centered environment.

The position requires a BSN with NY licensure, at least 3 years of acute care nursing experience and some supervisory experience. Schedule is full-time, 11am-9pm, at Mount Sinai Morningside.

Qualifications

• BSN and NY RN license required.
• Minimum 3 years acute care nursing with charge/Supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and patient-care quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing practice using the tenets of the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR).
• Ensure the integration of PHR into clinical activities to enhance Relationship Centered Care.
• Validate staff members round hourly on all patients by direct observation and patient feedback.
• Assess staff competency in PHR and provide consistent meaningful feedback.
• Conduct rounding of all patients on a daily basis (Monday-Friday).
• Communicate quantitative and qualitative information regarding the patient experience to the staff.
• Collaborate with the physician dyad and elevate concerns as appropriate.
• Follow up on all patient concerns in a timely manner and provide service recovery as needed.
• Design, support and lead a safe, therapeutic and efficient patient-centered care environment.
