Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to serve as a clinical leader in an active hospital unit. This role oversees daily nursing operations, drives quality patient care, and collaborates with physicians to address concerns and promote patient safety.

The candidate will model Relationship Centered Care, participate in huddles, and lead initiatives to improve patient experience and staff engagement.

Qualifications

• BSN in Nursing required; MSN preferred.
• 3 years minimum acute care clinical nursing experience with some Charge Nurse/Supervisory experience preferred.
• Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State.
• BSN required from AHA.

Responsibilities

• Acts as clinical leader in daily unit functioning and oversees quality patient care delivery.
• Leads nursing practice using Relationship Centered Care and Modified Primary Nursing care delivery.
• Ensures integration of Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) into clinical activities.
• Communicates patient experience and staff engagement to the interdisciplinary team to develop action plans.
• Collaborates with physician dyad and escalates concerns as appropriate.
• Oversees 24-hour patient care delivery, staffing and processes to ensure efficient operations.
• Prepares and monitors unit budgets and recruitment/retention of staff.
• Provides administrative and clinical oversight to support department goals.
