Job summary

Parkland Community Health Plan seeks a Nurse Manager to supervise nursing and ancillary staff, develop schedules, and ensure delivery of high‑quality patient care. You will guide staff development, oversee budget and resource needs, and collaborate with physicians and risk management to optimize patient services.

The role requires RN licensure in Texas, BLS certification, and 3+ years of professional nursing experience, with a focus on leadership and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license.
• Must have current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily management of unit activities to ensure high quality patient care and optimal outcomes.
• Develop staff schedules to maximize utilization and service quality.
• Directly supervise time, attendance and patient care activities of nursing and ancillary staff.
• Motivate, counsel, guide and evaluate staff; participate in hiring and orientation.
• Provide patient care planning, discharge planning and arrange support services.
• Maintain knowledge of Parkland and Joint Commission rules, policies, and laws.
• Identify process improvements and track unit data for quality and efficiency.
• Coordinate with physicians, administration and risk management to improve patient services.
• Manage budgeting, charges, supplies and capital improvements for the unit.
• Serve on multidisciplinary committees and provide staff education.
