Job summary

Home Health in New York seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to lead nursing care in a designated patient care area, collaborating with Unit Leadership to plan, supervise, and evaluate operations and patient care delivery. Role includes staff hiring/evaluation, setting care standards, and coordinating services with a focus on quality and patient outcomes.

The position requires BSN, NY RN license, BLS/ACLS as applicable, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
Certification in specialty preferred or active involvement with completion within twelve months.
AHA-BLS is required or current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to date of renewal.
Demonstrates leadership with good oral and written communication skills.
Critical Care: Current ACLS, critical care course within 2 months required.
Minimum of two years relevant clinical experience required.
Specific experience per unit criteria preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, EMR, bed management, transport/resource management and related systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate direction and supervision of nursing care for a defined patient care area.
Collaborate with Unit Leadership team on planning and operations for patient care delivery.
Participate in hiring and evaluating staff and maintaining standards of nursing care.
Ensure regulatory compliance and participation in quality, risk, and staff development initiatives.
Provide clinical coaching at the unit and bedside with staff and during performance reviews.
Support patient satisfaction, staff engagement, and fiscal stewardship of the unit.
