Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, required.
• Specialized certifications, as needed.
• 4-6 years of nursing experience and 0-2 years of leadership/management experience, required.

Responsibilities

• Manages and leads team members, operations and patient care activities within a patient care unit during assigned shift.
• Collaborates with team members and nursing management in developing methods and approaches to patient care.
• Communicates, builds consensus, and guides team toward department objectives.
• Promotes and maintains high quality patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Provides direction and guidance to patient care unit team members during assigned shift.
• May conduct performance reviews and provide input into hiring, promotions and corrective actions.
• Serves as a role model for standards of professional practice and leadership.
• Educates team members in new and existing department procedures and systems.
