Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide professional nursing care within an assigned unit. You will lead a team, develop and evaluate care regimens, and ensure accurate care plans and progress notes.

Collaborative care with interdisciplinary teams is essential to deliver high-quality patient outcomes. The role requires an active NY RN license, current BLS certification, and at least six months of RN experience.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN license and current registration.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Six months of experience as a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit.
• Serves as a team leader and guides nursing personnel in care activities.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates nursing regimens for patients.
• Records and maintains nursing care plans and progress notes for continuity of care.
• Interprets patient responses and reports them to the health team.
• Participates in planning a comprehensive patient care program with the health team.
• Coordinates nursing care with allied personnel and directs their tasks.
• Provides teaching and guidance to allied nursing staff.
• Participates in setting and maintaining nursing practice standards.
• Contributes to departmental and interdisciplinary policy discussions related to nursing practice.
• Supports development and evaluation of nursing care systems.
