Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist is seeking a part-time Nurse Technician for the postpartum unit on the night shift (11:45PM-7:45AM). The role focuses on bedside care, compassionate patient support, and acting as a critical contact for patients and families.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and completion of an approved Nurse Tech/Patient Care Tech program with BCLS certification. On-site presence is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Technician/Patient Care Technician Program or Nursing Assistant, EKG, and Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient care and assist under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Be an advocate and care taker for postpartum patients.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and patient-friendly environment.
• Assist with selected care duties as directed by the RN.

This position is a part-time (6 shifts biweekly) night shift (11:45PM-7:45AM), located at New York-Presbyterian\Brooklyn Methodist.

Preferred Criteria Minimum one year experience as Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician or Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting Required Criteria High school diploma or GED Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Technician/Patient Care Technician Program or Nursing Assistant, EKG, and Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program, with documentation of completion Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to lift, move, and position patients of all weights with varying amounts of assistance in a fair manner on a regular and recurring basis including dexterity of fingers, hands, arms and feet with sensory requirements of speech, touch, vision and hearing to normal range with corrections.
