Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Nurse Technician for the Operating Room. The role provides basic patient care under RN supervision, supports unit operations, and helps ensure safe, efficient patient flow in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, assisting with daily living activities, maintaining clean environments, managing the tech desk, and documenting care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• BCLS certification required; Handled with Care preferred.
• SRNA or EMT preferred.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, able to work under supervision in a stressful environment.
• Ability to learn quickly and navigate multiple software systems.
• Strong English reading, writing and speaking skills.
• Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

Position Summary:

Sovah Health Danville is seeking a Nurse Technician under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), performs basic patient care activities and unit support tasks to promote safe, efficient care and patient throughput. Assists with activities of daily living, routine monitoring, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment; supports nursing/physician staff and tech desk operations.

Essential Functions

• Performs basic patient care as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, ambulation).
• Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and appropriately stocked.
• Manages the tech desk; supports nursing/physician staff and department throughput.
• Documents care and activities per unit standards.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

Minimum Education:

• High School diploma preferred.

RequiredCertifications/Licenses:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required; Handled with Care preferred.
• SRNA or EMT preferred.
