Job summary

Summit Pacific Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Technician to support nursing staff in our Elma, WA facility. The role requires active enrollment in a nursing program or recent graduation, with responsibilities spanning medication handling within scope, patient care, and documentation.

You will work under RN supervision, ensuring safe, compassionate care and efficient daily operations. Ideal candidates demonstrate confidentiality, strong communication, and teamwork, with flexible hours

Qualifications

• Must understand importance of and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Must communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to listen effectively to patients, residents, caregivers, co-workers, and supervisor.
• Must have competent documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain requirements to qualify for employment as a nursing technician.
• Follow scope of practice as defined in WACs and facility standards.
• Function under direct supervision of an RN supervisor.
• Perform nursing functions allowed by current nursing education and validated by the nursing program.
• Ensure accurate and timely medication administration within allowed scope.
• Adhere to 8 rights of medication administration and safety practices.
• Document according to policies and procedures.
• Transcribe and carry out physician orders accurately and promptly.
• Safeguard patient rights and dignity in all care aspects.
• Assist with call lights and patient transfers, ADLs, meals, and mobility.
• Ensure timely readiness for services (appointments, meds, procedures).
• Maintain safety and cost-conscious practices.
