Job summary

Providence St. Peter Hospital is seeking a Nurse Technician who is an actively enrolled nursing student.

You will work under direct supervision of a registered nurse, delivering direct patient care and assisting with routine clinical tasks while applying current health concepts. Requirements include enrollment in an approved RN program with clinical components, a 3.0 GPA, and upon hire WA Nursing Technician Registration and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an approved RN program with at least one term including clinical component.
• Transcripts and nursing school skills checklist must be submitted on hire.
• Washington Nursing Technician Registration required upon hire.
• National Provider BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Apply current health concepts and assist with routine clinical responsibilities.
• Work up to the documented level of academic competence achieved in the program.

Job description

The Nurse Technician is a student currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse program who has completed at least one academic term which included a clinical component. Functions under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and within the scope of practice defined by the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). Responsible for providing direct patient care, applying current health concepts, and assisting with routine or general clinical responsibilities that may contribute directly or indirectly to patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. May work up to the documented and verified level of academic competence accomplished in the individual's education program.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training and Current enrollment in an approved registered nursing program, with satisfactory completion of at least one academic term which includes a clinical component. Transcripts and nursing school skills checklist must be submitted to the hospital upon hire and updated regularly.
• 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Upon hire: Washington Nursing Technician Registration
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Approved nursing program clinical rotation
