Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Nurse Technician for full-time night shifts (3x12 hours).

The role supports nursing staff, assists with daily living activities, and helps maintain patient safety and comfort in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and at least six months of experience in an acute or long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential nursing support, assist with activities of daily living and maintain a safe, clean patient environment.
• Record and monitor vital signs (temp, pulse, RR, weight, height, BP) and intake/output.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, including personal belongings.
• Support with patient positioning, lifting, turning, and use of assistive devices.
• Respond promptly to call lights and paging systems; perform other related duties as needed.

How you'll contribute

A Nurse Technician who excels in this role:

• Provides essential support to nursing staff by performing basic patient care duties, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients.
• Provide general nursing care such as patient positioning, lifting, turning, and use of assistive equipment.
• Assist with toileting using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation.
• Take and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, and blood pressure, as well as intake and output measurements.
• Assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge, including handling personal belongings.
• Maintain a clean and comfortable patient environment.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights, telephone, and paging systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
