Corewell Health's Pennock Hospital in Hastings, MI seeks a Nurse Technician for the Float Pool to cross-train across Med Surg, ICU, ED, and OB. You will work under an RN, performing vitals, blood sugars, baths, ambulation, wound care, catheterization, and safety monitoring while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Cert required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals and monitor patient condition.

• Perform catheterization as directed and ensure patient safety.

A Float position gives you the opportunity to cross train to Med Surg, ICU, Emergency Departments, and OB. Float offers an opportunity to learn a broader skill set and enhance your skills by working in these departments. There also is a pay incentive for working Float.

Scope of work

Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel. Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
