Job summary

The Alden Network in Illinois is seeking a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse to supervise nursing staff and provide direct patient care. You will ensure regulatory compliance, manage daily activities, and participate in care planning to deliver high quality elder care.

Responsibilities include leading the nursing team, maintaining policies, documenting care, and coordinating with physicians to ensure patients receive appropriate treatments.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN or LPN in the State of Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Must possess current CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with customers, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to customers and supervise nursing assistants.
• Ensure supervision complies with standards and facility policies.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct unit activities.
• Directly supervise and instruct staff to promote job knowledge.
• Ensure dress code and departmental policies are followed.
• Develop written care plans identifying customer problems and needs.
• Attend care plan conferences and report concerns to the Administrator.
• Counsel nursing personnel as needed and perform daily rounds.
• Maintain warm and calm department atmosphere and participate in continuing education.
• Place orders for medications, review medication records, and document nursing notes.
