Belmont Behavioral Health is seeking a Nurse Supervisor RN to join our nursing leadership team in Philadelphia. The Part-Time shift covers every other weekend (8:00am - 8:00pm) with PRN as needed.

The role focuses on day-to-day nursing operations, staff staffing, and delivering compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health care while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining a safe environment.

Qualifications

• BSN from accredited school of nursing preferred.
• Current nursing license in the state of the facility required.
• Greater than 1 year of RN experience strongly preferred.
• 1 year of RN experience in any setting required.
• 1 year in psychiatric/recovery programs preferred.
• Some experience as a charge RN or other leadership position strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on patient acuity/care needed.
• Role models expectations related to customer service and demonstrates urgency for patient safety.
• Enforce and interpret policies for the delivery of patient and resident care.
• Ensure staffing for each unit with appropriate staff ratios and coverage for call-offs and vacations.
• Ensure chart checks are completed and nursing assessments are up to date.
• Provide leadership to orient and train staff as needed.
• Mentor and train as needed.
• Ensure facility compliance with professional, regulatory and governmental standards.
• Monitor patient care processes and outcomes to ensure safe, competent care.
• Coordinate care rendered to patients including physician orders and diagnostics.
• Document medical/behavioral health information and nursing care.
• Administer medications and maintain records per policies.
• Develop and revise care plans with measurable goals.

Belmont Behavioral Health | Nurse Supervisor RN

Belmont Behavioral Health is looking to add Nursing Supervisors to our nursing leadership team.

Available Shift/Schedule:

• Part-Time: Every Other Weeekend (8:00am - 8:00pm)

Belmont Behavioral is a state-of-the-art, 260 bed behavioral health hospital in Philadelphia, PA. We provide services to many populations:

• Children: ages 5 -12
• Adolescents: ages 13 -17
• Adults: ages 18 and older.

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Responsible for day to day oversite of nursing operations of the facility and ensures staffing is adequate to provide care. When scheduled, oversees the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services in a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. As needed, collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments and administration to ensure that all residents’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints. Provide leadership to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as nursing practice standards. Recognizes that patient safety is a top priority.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Anticipates and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care needed
• Role models expectations related to customer service and demonstrates a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety
• Enforce and interpretpolicies for the delivery of patient and resident care.
• Ensureproper staffing for each unit,keeping staff ratio, appropriate staffing for patient care needs, covering call-offs and vacation time.
• Ensurechart checks are completed, seclusion/restraint log is up to date andnursing assessments are completed, as well as MAR’s and report sheets are kept accurate and up to date.
• Roundsare completed at the beginning of shift and perform random audits.
• Assistnursing leadersto make sure all staff are oriented and competent to perform required duties. May include coaching staff.
• Provide mentoring and training as needed.
• Assistthe nursing leadership teamby ensuring facility compliance with professional, regulatory and governmental standards.
• Ensurethe effective delivery of competent, compassionateand safe care by monitoring and evaluating patient care processes and outcomes on the patient care units.
• Coordinate all care rendered topatients, including physicianorders and diagnostic information,and ensure consultations are ordered.
• Documentmedical,behavioral health information and nursing care.
• Administer medications and maintain records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Assist in developing a plan of care with specific and measurable goals, objectives and interventions defining actions unique to eachpatient'sneeds. Assist in updating and revising the plan of care as goals/objectives are met or when thepatient'scondition changes.
• Prioritizetasks and delegate staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Leader on shift for all admissions and discharges, as well as informing physician of changes in the patient’s conditions. Adjusts staffing accordingly.
• Utilizeadministrator-on-call for situations that require additional attention.
• Provides direct care as needed.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Performother functions and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
