Belmont Behavioral Health is seeking Registered Nurses (RN) to join our nursing team in Philadelphia, PA. Full-Time or Part-Time options with Day, Evening, and Night shifts on 8- and 12-hour schedules, plus required weekend rotation and a comprehensive orientation (Mon-Fri 8a-4:30p).

Qualifications

  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Must possess a current RN license as required by the state.
  • One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral or substance abuse experience a plus.
  • CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans.
  • Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
  • Provide nursing care within nursing practice standards and facility policies.
  • Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed per policy.
  • Assess patient status and document pertinent information regularly.
  • Notify physicians of significant changes in status or emergencies.
  • Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
  • Demonstrate therapeutic rapport and professional boundaries with patients.
  • Coordinate unit activities and communicate with the care team.

Overview

Belmont Behavioral Health is looking to add dedicated and passionate Registered Nurses (RN) to our nursing team.

Belmont Behavioral is a state-of-the-art, 260 bed behavioral health hospital in Philadelphia, PA. We provide services to many populations:

  • Children: ages 5 -12
  • Adolescents: ages 13 -17
  • Adults: ages 18 and older.

Available Shift and Schedules:

Full-Time OR Part-Time

Day, Evening and Night shifts available

We have schedules that operate on 8 hour and 12 hour shifts.

ALL positions require every other weekend rotation

ALL positions require 1 week of New Hire Orientation (M-F 8a-4:30p)

Shift differentials: ($4) on Evening and Night shift and ($6) on weekend Evening and Night shift

As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Belmont, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch healthcare services to our patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, contribute to treatment plans, administer medications, monitor patient progress, and deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities

REGISTERED NURSE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans.
  • Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
  • Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined within the state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as facility and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ensure physicians’ orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.
  • Ensure patients’ status is assessed on an ongoing basis and pertinent information is gathered and documented.
  • Notify physicians of significant changes in status such as difficulties with detox, medical emergency, change in medical status regarding response to medications, and related challenges.
  • Ensure that initial nursing treatment plans are completed upon admission and that all nursing treatment plans are specific to assessed needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
  • Accurately administer medications per ordered note.
  • Document accurate count of controlled substance medication administration on required documents.
  • Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately as directed.
  • Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, respecting personal space, giving patients direct attention, and maintaining rational detachment.
  • Provide direction or coordinate the activities of the unit as directed.
  • Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co-workers, and others involved inpatient treatment.
Qualifications

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements
  • One year of nursing experience; previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance abuse nursing experience a plus
  • CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
