Job summary

Advocate Health Union's 15-bed Progressive Care Unit in North Carolina seeks an experienced RN to join a fast-paced team delivering intermediate-level monitoring and high-quality, patient-centered care. The role supports nursing leadership and requires BSN and RN licensure.

The position offers 3x12-hour night shifts (7p–7a), collaborative team environment, and opportunities to impact patient outcomes through skilled nursing practice and leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• BSN required; if not BSN, must enroll in BSN within 1 year and complete within 3 years.
• Two years nursing experience preferred.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Professional certification may be required within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Supports the manager to enhance nursing practice and care delivery.
• Assists with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing staff.
• Coordinates shift communications via meetings/huddles.
• Ensures compliance with federal/state laws, healthcare regulations, and policies.
• Rounds on patients, staff, and physicians to assess care and department operations.
• Delegates care tasks to appropriate healthcare workers according to policy.
• Identifies expected outcomes to guide continuity of care.
• Assesses progress toward goals and disseminates updates to the team.
• Performs nursing care and assists with treatments, therapies, and medications.
• Manages patient flow and staffing based on volume and acuity.
