Job Title: Nurse Supervisor - Nights | The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place | Williamsburg, Virginia

About the Job:

Purpose Statement: The Nurse Supervisor plans and supervises direct care nursing staff, manages unit coverage needs related to acuity, absences, and leave, and helps establish standards of practice for client care excellence in the nursing department.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Provide, delegate, coordinate, and evaluate client care through team efforts, adhering to nursing standards and the nursing process.
2. Update and revise care plans as goals are met or client conditions change.
3. Ensure comprehensive nursing assessments are completed within 8 hours of admission, including physician orders and care plan initiation.
4. Coordinate care activities with staff to ensure smooth and complete efforts during shared shifts.
5. Manage medication and equipment storage, administration, and replacements, consulting with medical staff as needed.
6. Provide leadership to staff and perform rounds on inpatient units for supervision and assistance.
7. Schedule staff to ensure full coverage and appropriate staffing levels.
8. Oversee admission assessments and provide referrals or assistance with admissions.
9. Participate in staff hiring, training, mentoring, and retention.
10. Document care accurately and maintain medication records.
11. Maintain a therapeutic environment collaboratively with clients and care providers.
12. Coordinate payroll and inventory with Human Resources and supplies management.
13. Address performance issues and assist with data collection for quality improvement.
14. May work on a specific unit when needed.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ RN experience.
• At least one year of behavioral health experience.

Licenses, Certifications, and Additional Requirements:

• Valid RN license from the state or a compact license.
• Psychiatric Nursing certification preferred.
• CPR, de-escalation, and restraint certifications required.

Supervisory Experience: One or more years’ supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
