Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess, at a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate from an approved LPN/RN program.
• Experience not applicable; on-the-job training provided.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN or LPN in this state.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of CNAs/GNAs or other nursing personnel.
• Ensure all nursing personnel comply with Center policies and procedures.
• Review department policies and manuals; recommend revisions.
• Discipline and evaluate CNAs/GNAs and other nursing personnel as needed.
• Issue verbal and written disciplinary warnings for violations.
• Plan shifts, services, programs, and activities with staff.
• Keep Nursing Service Procedures Manual current and enforce its procedures.
• Provide reports/recommendations on shift activities.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services for total care.
• Ensure adherence to job descriptions for nursing staff.
• Participate in QA programs and surveys conducted by authorities.
• Update discharge plans and assist in planning the nursing portion.
• Interpret policies to staff, residents, visitors and agencies.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents.
• Complete accident/incident reports; assist Billing as needed.
• Perform administrative duties like forms, reports and charting.
