Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current State RN license.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality nursing care in an environment that promotes residents' rights, dignity and freedom of choice.
• Supervises CNAs and subordinate staff, ensuring assignments are completed.
• Supervises direct care of residents and nursing personnel on shift.
• Gives and receives shift reports.
• Rounds the unit to ensure safe, clean care delivery.
• Keeps physicians and families informed of changes in residents’ condition.
• Assists in developing comprehensive care plans.
• Completes medical records documenting care and maintains confidentiality.
• Maintains infection control and standard precautions during care and with equipment.
• Maintains resident comfort, privacy and dignity with warmth and respect.
• Responds promptly to call lights.
• Assists with new admissions and transfers between rooms.
• Communicates effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attends departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
