We are seeking a 3rd shift Nurse Supervisor who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness.
Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, this position provides daily nursing care, training, activities, and treatment to the people who live at the Regional Centers in accordance with all licensing and certification requirements, the South Carolina Nursing Practice Act, and South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD), Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (OIDD).
The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $93,823 and will be based on verified work-related nursing experience as indicated on the candidate’s application. This position is eligible for up to $6.25/hour shift differential for applicable shifts!
The position for this posting is located at Midlands Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Columbia, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and related nursing experience. Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and techniques of nursing. Knowledge of teaching methods applicable to nursing. Knowledge of principles and practices of nursing administration in a healthcare facility. Knowledge of certification requirements and standards for healthcare facilities. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize, supervise, direct and evaluate the work of other employees. Ability to establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of individuals and families. Ability to follow detailed instructions of a technical and professional nature. Ability to develop and implement therapeutic nursing programs. General knowledge of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Ability to work in a group home like setting or ICF. Physical ability to work with individuals who may be physically aggressive or medically fragile.

If this position requires the applicant to work directly with consumers of The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, tuberculosis (TB) skin or blood testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, employees of The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
