Job summary

UF Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) per diem (.01 FTE) to provide nursing care using the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse.

The RN will perform staff nurse activities and may serve as charge nurse when assigned, ensuring accountability for the care of assigned patients and coordinating with the healthcare team. ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications are required, with additional certifications encouraged.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include an Associate’s Degree and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• BSN must be obtained within three years of hire or transfer for new hires; BSN preferred.
• Florida RN license (or eligibility) and BLS required on first day.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within specified timeframes; additional certifications preferred.
• Experience: less than 1 year required; 1 year clinical experience preferred.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

Education

• Associate’s Degree required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BSN must be obtained from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer for applicable new hires
• Employees hired/transferred between August 1, 2013, and June 13, 2017, follow the requirements outlined in their offer letter/job description
• Employees hired/transferred prior to August 1, 2013, are grandfathered
• BSN preferred
