Job summary

Elliott Nursing & Rehab in Kentucky is seeking Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for the night shift to support our care team and residents.

Nurses render skilled nursing services, supervise CNAs, implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs where appropriate, and document care per regulations.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN or LPN in the state of employment with active license in good standing.
• CPR certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead nursing care planning and document care per physician orders.
• Assess residents’ conditions and nursing needs, implement physician orders.
• Administer medications, start IVs where applicable, and document treatments.
• Supervise CNAs to ensure high-quality resident care.
• Participate in orientation and training for personnel.
• Assist physicians with tests and procedures within Nursing Practice Act.
• Record pertinent observations and reactions.
• Coordinate nursing care with other departments during therapy or procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and institute measures as needed.

Position Overview:

Elliott Nurses render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit/wing in support of medical care as directed by the nursing management team; supervises CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents in that unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document the residents’ condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents and document that treatment as required by Majestic Care and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.
• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as an RN or LPN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.
• Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.
