Job summary

Carter Nursing and Rehab seeks Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses for day and evening shifts, full-time. You will render skilled nursing services on an assigned unit, follow physicians’ orders, and support CNAs to ensure high quality resident care.

Responsibilities include developing individualized care plans, assessing residents, administering medications, starting IVs, and coordinating care with other departments to maintain safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN or LPN license in Kentucky, in good standing.
• CPR certification preferred but not required.

• Assess and document the residents’ condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments with documentation per regulations.

• Record observations and coordinate care with therapy/other departments.
• Assist with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments.

Position Overview

Carter Nursing and Rehab Nurses render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit/wing in support of medical care as directed by the nursing management team; supervises CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents in that unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document the residents’ condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents and document that treatment as required by Majestic Care and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.
• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as an RN or LPN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.
• Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.
