Job summary

Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL, offers a Nurse Resident position for the Acute Care unit.

The program supports nurses with under one year of experience, starting on day shift for six weeks before transitioning to nights, with a structured preceptorship and hands-on patient care. As a Nurse Resident, you will assess patient needs, develop and revise care plans, document care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Nursing school graduate.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida or with a valid Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) multistate RN license.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas; NRP is required for NICU.

Responsibilities

• Administers bedside patient care under supervision of a preceptor, leader, and/or charge nurse.
• Assesses patients’ needs and updates care plans; evaluates progress toward outcomes.
• Collates and communicates patient information; collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team.
• Acts as preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician as needed.
• Documents patient care meeting regulatory and safety standards.
