Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center is seeking RN Residents for our Nurse Residency Program. This year-long paid program provides hands-on experience, dedicated nurse educators, and a supportive community to transition from student nurse to licensed RN.

You will receive advanced clinical training, monthly education sessions, preceptorship, and mentoring from experienced nurse leaders while contributing to patient-centered care across specialties in a large hospital system.

Qualifications

• The HCA Nurse Residency Program provides hands-on experience to develop clinical and critical thinking skills.
• Includes monthly educational sessions and preceptorship with a facility preceptor.
• Requires BLS within 30 days and ACLS within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor therapeutic response.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and resolve them proactively.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan and follow-up.
