Job summary

WakeMed in North Carolina offers a year-long Nurse Residency Program that helps new graduate nurses bridge school and the clinical shift. You’ll be paired with a trained preceptor, supported by Nurse Residency Coordinators, and move through the year alongside peers facing similar transitions.

The program provides specialty clinical training, mentorship, and a structured first year with clear pathways for clinical advancement, benefiting patient care and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Newly licensed RNs or nurses with 6 months or less of post-licensure experience.
• Eligible for RN licensure in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Develop clinical judgment, critical-thinking skills, and professional nursing competencies through guided mentorship and hands-on experience.
• Grow into a specialty – acute care, critical care, emergency services, women’s services, perioperative services, and others.
