Job summary

Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections in Nampa is seeking a Registered Nurse to safeguard youth health and welfare within a state employment framework.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care by assessing, triaging medical and mental health concerns, delivering treatments, responding to emergencies, and coordinating follow-up.
• Complete intake screenings and ongoing health monitoring including medical evaluations, vital signs, laboratory testing, immunizations, and chronic disease management.
• Manage medication administration and pharmacy coordination by processing orders, administering medications, maintaining controlled substance records, and ensuring inventory compliance.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and regulatory compliance through timely recordkeeping, health reporting, care coordination, discharge planning, and confidentiality.
• Coordinate healthcare services, education, and clinical operations by arranging off-site medical appointments, providing health education and staff training, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

If yes, then this is the position for you! The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN)for our Juvenile Corrections Facility in beautiful Nampa, Idaho.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care by conducting assessments, triaging medical and mental health concerns, delivering treatments, responding to emergencies, and coordinating appropriate follow-up care for juveniles.
• Complete intake screenings and ongoing health monitoring including medical evaluations, vital signs, laboratory testing, immunizations, and chronic disease management to ensure continuity of care.
• Manage medication administration and pharmacy coordination by processing medication orders, administering and monitoring medications, maintaining controlled substance records, and ensuring medication inventory compliance.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and regulatory compliance through timely recordkeeping, health reporting, care coordination, discharge planning, and adherence to legal and confidentiality requirements.
• Coordinate healthcare services, education, and clinical operations by arranging off-site medical appointments, providing health education and staff training, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support the health and safety of youth in custody.

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the state of Idaho or state licensure as a Registered Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact, Idaho Code 54-1418, in one of the following compact states: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Wisconsin
• Willing to work in a juvenile correction facility.
• Must meet federal PREA requirements.
