Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a dedicated Nurse, OR/Recovery to join the surgical team. On-site role with Monday–Friday, 4x10s, 9am–7:30pm and rotating days off.

Provides direct nursing care in pre/post operative settings and participates in patient education and care planning. The successful candidate will have RN licensure in Missouri (or compact multi-state license) and at least 1 year of RN experience, with strong assessment and teamwork skills to support patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Missouri Board of Nursing RN licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN.
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an assigned group of patients.
  • Plan, direct, and/or participate in patient, family, community, and health professional education.
  • Report observations and reactions to physicians, head nurse, charge nurse, or nursing supervisor and document accurately.

  • * Base Pay Range: $34.46 to $51.02 per hour, based on experience

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Provide direct care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to an assigned group of patients.
  • Plan, direct, and/or participate in the education of the patient, family, community, and health professionals.
  • Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person (i.e. physicians, head nurse, charge nurse, and/or nursing supervisor) and record those observations accurately and concisely.
  • Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursing department.
  • Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups.
  • Participate in nursing research.
  • Provide quality care to patients and work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction.
  • May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

  • One (1) year of RN experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Participation in a professional nursing organization.

* Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
