Job summary

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department) invites applications for a Nurse Practitioner, L3 to join one of its Sexual Health clinics in NYC. The role involves comprehensive patient care for STI and HIV, including PrEP/PEP, contraception, vaccinations, and telemedicine duties.

You will work under the Physician In Charge, obtain histories, perform exams, order tests, and coordinate referrals while maintaining Bureau productivity standards.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State license and current RN registration.
• Completion of an NP program or current NP certification.
• Certificate to prescribe medication by NYSED and 1 year NP experience for Assignment Level II.
• Certificate to prescribe medication by NYSED and 2 years NP experience for Assignment Level III.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical and sexual history and perform physical examinations.
• Order relevant testing and make presumptive diagnoses of STIs.
• Provide treatment for STIs and HIV, including PEP/PrEP.
• Provide contraception, including LARC.
• Provide vaccination for Hepatitis A/B, Meningitis and HPV.
