Job summary

The Virginia League for Planned Parenthood seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join our Clinician team in Hampton Roads. You will provide high quality, patient-centered care across primary care, family planning, gender-affirming hormone care and abortion services in a regulated clinical setting.

Candidates should have Virginia APRN license with prescriptive authority, DEA, RN license and BLS. Experience with IUD/implants, ultrasound, LARC, and GAHT or primary care is preferred; training is available

Qualifications

Virginia APRN license with prescriptive authority and specialization in Family Medicine or Women's Health.
DEA license and Virginia RN license.
Current BLS certification.
Experience with LARC including IUDs and implants, medication abortion, ultrasound, GAHT or primary care; willingness to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret patient medical and social history.
Provide information on general health, family planning, STI testing, pregnancy options and abortion services.
Medical assessment and management within scope of practice.
Prescribe medications and manage treatment plans.
Perform ultrasound, IUD insertion/removal, implant insertion/removal, colposcopy, LEEP as trained.
Document accurately in patient records and clinic logs.
Coordinate follow-up and referrals per treatment plans.
Support patient care goals and clinic revenue targets.
Precept/train medical trainees and students.
