Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license.
• APRN‑NP licensure in Texas required or in progress as applicable.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests (x-ray, ECG, labs) and interprets results.
• Performs therapeutic procedures (injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care) and manages infections.
• Develops and implements patient management plans and records progress notes.
• Counsels patients on adherence to prescribed therapies, growth, development, family planning, and health maintenance.
• Follows up on messages, prescriptions, and test results for timely responses.
• Supervises Clinic personnel in delegated medical care duties.

Job Location: Hondo Clinic 3200 Ave E - Hondo, TX 78861, Position Type: PRN, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Job Shift: Varying, POSITION PURPOSE:

Provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a Physician.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
• Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and manages infections.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimen, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Follows up on patients’ messages, prescription refills, and test results for themselves and the doctors to give a timely response to the patient.
• This job supervises Clinic personnel in all delegated or directive medical care duties.

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

• Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Texas Licensure as an APRN-NP, and specialty certification as required by department.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified within 30 days of hire.
• Master’s in nursing as NP or Master’s degree in Nursing with completion of a post-master Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
