Job summary

Brighton Hospice seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join our Atlanta team. You will perform physical exams and preventive care within physician guidelines, record findings, and develop care plans.

You will discuss cases with physicians to prepare comprehensive patient care plans and may prescribe medications. You will monitor patient progress and collaborate with hospice staff and volunteers as part of the IDT, ensuring high-quality care for patients and families.

Qualifications

• NP must have completed an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• State licensure in good standing is required.
• Willingness to drive with reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines.
• Record findings and formulate plans and prognoses based on patient condition.
• Discuss cases with physicians and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive care plans.
• Prescribe or recommend drugs or other treatments.
• Monitor progress and report to supervising physician.
• Collaborate with hospice employees and volunteers as part of an IDT.

Details

The Nurse Practitioner performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician.

• Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
• Discusses case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
• Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment.
• Monitors and maintains progress of patients and reports progress to supervising physician.
• Has the ability to work collaboratively with hospice employees and volunteers as part of an IDT

Qualifications

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to assist in lifting and transferring patients as required.
