Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Critical Care Department on the night shift. You will provide high-quality patient care under protocol with physicians, contributing to evaluation, management and treatment of diverse medical cases.

The ideal candidate holds a FL medical license (or able to obtain), active BLS/ACLS, and has oncology/critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree at minimum; master’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant program.
• Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one) and certification by the appropriate accreditation body.
• Active BLS and ACLS (must be AHA approved).
• Experience in oncology, critical care, emergency medicine and/or general internal medicine is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with many specialists to coordinate and optimize patient care.
• Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis.
• Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within the scope of practice.
• May perform minor surgical procedures within the scope of practice.
• Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate, within the scope of practice.

Summary Practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. Provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group, and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. As a medical provider that is not a physician but is licensed to diagnose and treat patients under protocol with a physician(s), the Nurse Practitioner assists physicians in the evaluation, management and treatment of patients. The Nurse Practitioner is involved in a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures and co‑morbidities. Works independently within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of physician(s) under protocol(s).

Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Critical Care Department (Night Shift) ** $10K Sign-On Bonus ** Based in the Critical Care Department, this Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position provides critical patient care under the auspices of the Moffitt Medical Group (MMG) and serves as a member of the academic medical enterprise, advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.

• Works within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s).

Salary Range $131,892.80 - $201,052.80 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job‑related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
