Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida is seeking an APRN/PA-C for our ICU, to provide critical care in oncology patients. This full-time night-shift role offers a sign-on bonus and shift differential. Active Florida license and national certs are required.

Ideal candidates have ICU or critical care experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills to support our interdisciplinary team and academic mission. This is a demanding, rewarding position in a leading cancer center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree at minimum; master's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program.
• Active FL medical license (or ability to obtain one) and national certification.
• Active BLS and ACLS (AHA approved).

Responsibilities

• Provides patient critical care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, coordinating care with multiple specialists.
• Assists physicians with evaluation, management and treatment of critically ill patients.
• Formulates and implements treatment plans within scope of practice.
• Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate.
• Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.

Responsibilities:§ Provides patient critical care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with many specialists to coordinate and optimize patient care.§ Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis.§ Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice.§ May perform minor surgical bedside procedures within scope of practice.§ Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate, within the scope of practice.§ Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.Additional Information:§ This full time position for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU), for inpatient care of patients who have a presently or potentially life-threatening medical or surgical condition. § The position will specifically cover day shift.
