Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health care related field and licensure as NP/PA.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program with APN certification.
- Formal education program for advanced practice nurses or PAs completed.
- Current Illinois APN license and prescriptive authority where applicable.
- Recent CEU credits or annual health-related coursework.
Responsibilities
- Obtain medical history and physical data on patients and review records.
- Order, interpret, and integrate data to plan diagnostics and therapy.
- Perform exams, document findings and establish presumptive diagnoses.
- Order labs and imaging and synthesize data for treatment plans.
- Administer injections, suturing, and prescription orders for meds.
- Advise patients on prevention and connect to community resources.
- Educate patients on medications and treatment instructions.
- Assist physician with notes, orders, and transcription.
- Triage calls and provide clinical consultation.
- Conduct independent evaluations and emergency procedures as needed.

Job Location: Windsor (LLC) - Champaign, IL 61822, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: 4-Year Degree, Salary Range: $53.37 - $72.21 Hourly, Job Shift: 12--Hour Shift, Job Category: Advanced Practice Provider, Christie Clinic's department of Convenient Care is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant on a rotating schedule, 3 days a week with availability from Sunday-Saturday 8:00am-8:00pm, including weekends and holidays on rotation. This position will require coverage at the Windsor and Urbana clinics, as needed, to support the department.
- Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients. Review patient records.
- Order, interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.
- Perform a complete and/or focused physical exam and record findings. Establish presumptive diagnosis if needed.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
- Administer injections, immunizations and/or oral medications. Suture wounds. Prepare written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances.
- Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Instruct patient and family regarding medication and treatment instructions. Provide patient education.
- Assist physician by recording patient progress notes, issuing diagnostic orders and transcribing orders.
- Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation.
- Perform independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
- Perform related work as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a health care related field
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Successful completion of a post basic advanced practice formal education program
- Successful completion of all other requirements to practice as a nurse practitioner
- Evidence of annual completion of health related courses and/or seminars with a certificate or CEU’s
- Master’s Degree
- Current Illinois state Advanced Practice Nurse Certified Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license
- Current Illinois Advanced Practice Nurse Controlled Substance license
- CPR Certification
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
Work is performed in a medical office setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Ionizing radiation and medicinal preparations are also common. Requirements include working weekends, evenings, holidays, etc. as associated with working in Convenient Care.
The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
