Job summary

Christie Clinic's Windsor clinic in Champaign, IL is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support the Endocrinology department from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with travel to other clinic as needed.

You will prepare exam rooms, take vitals, document in the EMR, assist with testing (A1c and blood sugar), and help with prior authorizations; CPR certification is required, and a High School diploma is needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Clinical setting experience preferred.
• Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate or graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms prior to appointment.
• Assist patient to exam room, take vitals, weight, and height; enter into EMR.
• Maintain and update patient medical records including allergies and medications in EMR.
• Perform A1c and blood sugar testing.
• Flag appropriate room for provider to see patient.
• Download meters for appointments and assist with Prolia authorizations.
• Assist with EMR related work and related tasks as required.

Job Location: Windsor (LLC) - Champaign, IL 61822, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: $17.53 - $24.10 Hourly, Job Shift: 1st Shift, Job Category: Medical Assisting, Christie Clinic's department of Endocrinology is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant at the Windsor clinic in Champaign from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements. This position may require the ability to travel to another clinic, as needed, to support the department.

Job Qualifications and Expectations: JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms prior to appointment. Clean and restock following appointment.
• Assist patient to exam room, take vitals, weight, and height of patient. Enter information into the electronic medical record.
• Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.
• A1c and blood sugar testing
• Flag appropriate room for provider to see patient.
• Download meters for appointments.
• Assist with Prolia prior authorizations and scheduling.
• Assist with EMR related work such as cc charts and other related work as required.
• Perform related work as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in a clinical setting
• Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate and/or graduation from an accredited program for medical assistants

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

• CPR Certification

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
