Job summary

Jobtailor in Minnesota seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive primary care through in-person and telemedicine visits. You will diagnose and treat acute illnesses, manage chronic conditions, perform point-of-care testing, and deliver preventive care and health coaching.

• Experience evaluating and treating pediatric patients 5+ years old independently

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care via in-person and telemedicine visits for adults and children 5+ years
• Deliver preventive care, wellness exams, screenings, immunizations, and health promotion
• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, minor injuries, and episodic health concerns
• Manage chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, obesity, and hyperlipidemia
• Perform point-of-care testing and basic laboratory services
• Provide patient education, health coaching, and lifestyle counseling
• Coordinate care with PCPs, specialists, hospitals, and workplace health resources
• Address occupational injuries and illnesses and support workers’ compensation
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in electronic medical records
• Support clinic operations including intake, sample collection, inventory, and scheduling
• Practice independently on-site with remote oversight from Medcor physician
• Participate in emergency preparedness drills and response planning

Job description

• Provide comprehensive primary care through in-person and telemedicine visits
• Deliver preventive care, annual wellness exams, health screenings, immunizations, and health promotion services
• Assess, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses, minor injuries, infections, and episodic health concerns for adults and pediatric patients ages 5 and older
• Manage chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, obesity, and hyperlipidemia
• Deliver urgent and episodic care, including stabilizing patients and coordinating higher-level care or emergency transport
• Perform and interpret point-of-care testing, laboratory services, and health risk assessments
• Provide patient education, health coaching, and lifestyle counseling
• Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, hospitals, employee assistance programs, and community healthcare resources
• Assess and treat occupational injuries and illnesses
• Conduct occupational health services including medical surveillance, regulatory examinations, hearing conservation, vision screening, respirator fit testing, and drug and alcohol testing
• Manage return-to-work and workers’ compensation programs
• Support workplace wellness, health promotion, and preventive health initiatives
• Collaborate with Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety, client stakeholders, and Medcor clinical and operations teams
• Participate in emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response planning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using electronic medical record systems
• Support day-to-day clinic operations including patient intake, specimen collection, inventory and supply management, scheduling coordination, and general health center operations
• Practice independently onsite with support from a remote Medcor Oversight Physician

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or a master’s degree from an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program
• Active, unrestricted state license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Education, training, certification, and clinical experience necessary to independently evaluate and treat pediatric patients ages 5 and older
• Current DEA registration
• Current BLS and CPR certification
• Minimum of two years of post-licensure experience practicing independently in a primary care setting
• Experience with autonomous assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions across a broad patient population
• Experience using electronic medical records and other clinical technology
• Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with remote clinical and operational teams
• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during emergencies
• Patient-focused approach and commitment to exceptional customer service
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the scheduled shift
• Ability to lift or move medical equipment, carry a jump bag weighing up to 50 pounds, assist patients with ambulation, and respond to emergencies
• Ability to work around infectious materials, workplace noise, varying temperatures, and industrial environments
• Appropriate personal protective equipment may be required
