Job summary

Qualifications

• ACLS required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment and medical management for common illnesses per written protocols.
• Perform history, physical exams, order/interpret diagnostics, assess wellness/illness.
• Furnish medications per written protocols and counsel on plans and side effects.
• Refer patients to subspecialists when needed and document visits thoroughly.
• Initiate drug therapy for chronic and episodic conditions; respond to emergencies.
• Attend inservices and departmental meetings; adhere to infection control and safety policies.
• Maintain licensure, CPR certifications, and comply with attendance/scheduling rules.

Job Details Job Location: Medical Office Building MOB - Winamac, IN 46996 Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: Day Job Category: Professional Services Provides health assessments and medical management to patients. The Nurse Practitioner / PA has input into clinical protocols and practices in accordance with policies and applicable laws.

1. Provide treatment and medically manage common illness and injuries complying with written departmental medical protocols and procedures.
2. Perform historical documentation and physical examination. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies. Provide assessments of wellness or illness. Furnish medications based upon written protocols.
3. Ensure that patients are counseled regarding treatment plans and the use, dosage and possible side effects of medications.
4. Assures referral to appropriate providers when patients require subspecialty medical attention beyond the area's scope of service.
5. Document the patient's visit, in problem-oriented format and in accordance with Federal and State Standards, in the patient's medical record.
6. Initiate drug therapy both chronic and episodic disorders including complications of otherwise normal processes.
7. Demonstrate awareness of emergency situations and performs duties appropriately
