Job summary

Options Medical Weight Loss is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform health assessments, order labs, prescribe within scope, and deliver injections in a busy clinic setting.

You will monitor metabolic health metrics and provide coaching on lifestyle changes, working with leadership to enhance patient outcomes and clinic performance. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Completed an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program in accordance with state regulations.
• Currently licensed as a registered nurse or physician assistant in the clinic's state.
• Must possess an unrestricted DEA license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments for new patients and orient them to services.
• Order and interpret labs, write prescriptions, perform approved procedures.
• Administer injections and educate patients on self-administration.
• Monitor metabolic health markers using the Options Health Panel to guide care plans.
• Provide metabolic health coaching on lifestyle modifications.
• Educate patients on metabolic dysfunction and related risk factors.
• Identify and manage metabolic syndrome using appropriate protocols.
• Maintain expertise in OMWL programs and clinical protocols; support patient care decisions.
• Partner with clinic leadership to improve patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.
• Provide feedback to support continuous improvement in patient experience and business practices.
• Participate in ongoing training and consultative process alignment.
• Support leadership in fostering collaboration and accountability.

Position Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments for new patients, orient them to services, and recommend appropriate programs to support weight loss and overall health goals.
• Order and interpret labs, write prescriptions, perform office procedures, and provide phlebotomy services within the scope of practice.
• Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, and educate patients on self-administration when appropriate.
• Monitor key metabolic health markers (e.g., blood glucose, lipid levels, insulin resistance) using the Options Health Panel (OHP) to guide adjustments in care plans.
• Deliver personalized health coaching on metabolic health, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications to support long-term wellness.
• Educate patients on metabolic dysfunction, insulin resistance, and risk factors for metabolic syndrome, incorporating evidence-based practices and insights from the 12-Month Health Transformation (12MHT) program.
• Identify and manage metabolic syndrome and related conditions using appropriate treatment protocols.
• Maintain expertise in OMWL programs, pharmacology, and clinical protocols; act as a resource for patient care decisions and clinic policy.
• Partner with clinic leadership to enhance patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and overall clinic performance.
• Provide feedback to support continuous improvement in patient experience and business practices.
• Participate in ongoing training, skill validation sessions, and consultative sales process alignment to optimize patient engagement.
• Support the dyad leadership team in fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as needed in alignment with the organization’s mission.

Physical Requirements & Hours

• Must have weekend availability.
• This role requires prolonged periods of standing and sitting, including working at a computer for extended durations.
• Frequent direct patient interaction, requiring excellent interpersonal communication and the ability to engage with diverse patient populations in a clinical setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program in accordance with respective state regulations.
• Current approval by the joint Board of Medical Examiners and/or Board of Nursing to perform medical acts.
• Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse or physician assistant in the state where the clinic is located.
• Must possess an unrestricted DEA license.
