Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking an autonomous Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the ambulatory Cancer Center Infusion team. The Infusion APP will oversee care for 50-75 patients daily across five infusion centers, including triage of real-time issues and collaboration with physicians, surgeons, APPs, and staff to ensure continuity of care.

We are searching for an autonomous advanced practice provider (APP) to join our ambulatory care Cancer Center Infusion team. The Infusion APP will oversee the care of 50-75 patients per day across five infusion centers, treating both oncology and non‑oncology patients. Responsibilities include triage of real‑time issues, collaboration with physicians, surgeons, APP colleagues, and other clinical and administrative staff to ensure continuity of care, timely treatment, and optimal patient outcomes. The APP also manages a three‑bed Cancer Center Acute Care (CACC) unit, providing higher acuity oncology care to prevent unnecessary emergency visits and admissions.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master’s degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
• Two (2) years of clinical experience as a nurse practitioner in the same specialty and setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in adult critical care medicine as a nurse or nurse practitioner.
• Specialty certifications: OCN or AOCNP.
• Proficiency in ECG and imaging interpretation (X‑ray, CT, MRI).

License / Certification

• California Registered Nurse (RN) license without restriction.
• California Nurse Practitioner (NP) license without restriction.
• California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number.
• NP national board certification aligned with the patient population and clinical role (e.g., Adult Outpatient A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC).
• California Driver License, if required for the position.
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Additional required certifications: ACLS. No required ENLS.
• Credentialing with UCSF Medical Center Office of Medical Affairs & Governance is required prior to the first working day; approval of Standardized Procedures takes 60‑90 days.
