UCSF Medical Center seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APN/NP) to join the ambulatory Cancer Center Infusion team. You will care for 50–75 patients daily across five infusion centers, triaging symptoms and ensuring continuity of care through collaboration with physicians, APP colleagues and staff in infusion and acute care settings.

The role requires California RN and NP licenses, NP board certification, and furnishing numbers, with BLS/ACLS and DEA as applicable.

Job Description

Interested in a dynamic, autonomous practice setting, working with a highly skilled and collaborative APP team? Consider joining our ambulatory care Cancer Center Infusion APP team. The Cancer Center Infusion APP team is responsible for overseeing and providing care for 50-75 patients per day (depending on the unit size) across five Infusion centers for Oncology and non-Oncology patients. Infusion APPs triage clinical concerns, such as acute treatment related symptoms, in real time and ensure continuity of care through collaboration and communication with physicians'/surgeons/APP colleagues as well as other clinical and administrative staff. Together, the team supports timely patient treatment, works toward patients' care goals, and promotes a positive patient experience and outcome. In addition to our infusion areas, APPs provide care at the three-bed Cancer Acute Care Clinic (CACC). There, they assess, diagnose, and manage acute oncology symptoms that can safely be treated in an outpatient setting. When a patient needs a higher level of care, APPs in the CACC coordinate direct hospital admission when appropriate or facilitate emergency evaluation and admission. This role will require the ability to work in both the Infusion Center and the CACC.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master's degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Nurse Practitioner Per Diem: - Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as an NP in the same specialty and setting. - At least two (2) years of recent inpatient hematology/oncology and/or oncology infusion center experience as a Nurse Practitioner. - Demonstrated minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in managing patients receiving immunotherapy and biotherapy in an outpatient infusion center Preferred Qualifications: - One (1) year experience in adult critical care medicine as (Nurse or NP) Specialty Certifications; OCN or AOCNP - ECG and imagining; (X-ray, CT and MRI) interpretation Licenses/Certifications: 1. California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction 2. California Nurse Practitioner (NP) License without restriction 3. California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number 4. NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role Adult Outpatient (A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC). 5. California Driver License (if required for position) 6. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address 7. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 8. Additional required AHA certifications: ACLS 9. Additional required certifications (such as ENLS): None UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to be credentialed through its Office of Medical Affairs and Governance (OMAG) to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. Credentialing takes between 60-90 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.
