Job summary

Indian Health Service seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary care in support of American Indian and Alaska Native health.

The role includes diagnosing, treating, prescribing, and educating patients, with a recruitment/relocation sign-on bonus available for eligible candidates. A valid NP license and ACCP/APN credentials are required, and a federal background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Graduate or higher-level nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Current, active, full and unrestricted nursing license.
• Advanced Practice Nurse licensure in the indicated clinical specialty.
• Experience with evaluating and managing patient care.
• Ability to interpret diagnostic information and develop care plans.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, and diagnostic information to develop diagnoses.
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans based on standards of care.
• Diagnose or treat acute health care problems.
• Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, dosage, and frequencies.
• Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses.
