**THIS IS A PART-TIME (20 hours per week), REGULARPOSITION**

The University of Maryland, Baltimore, Department of Obstetrics,Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences is seeking a NursePractitioner to provide senior-level leadership for clinicaltraining operations within the Maryland Abortion and ReproductiveClinical Health (MARCH) Program.

This position will oversee theimplementation and continuous improvement of clinical curriculum,simulation-based education, trainee clinical experiences, andtraining site readiness to support a statewide training program.Responsibilities will include overseeing clinical simulationactivities, supporting trainee-to-site matching, monitoringtraining quality and outcomes, providing guidance to clinicaltraining sites, and serving as the primary clinical escalationpoint for site-based issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Oversees the clinical research projects or clinical trials andassigned staff to ensure compliance with study protocols andoverall clinical objectives. Supports research by developingclinical research questions, conducting and participating inresearch projects or clinical trials, and disseminating andincorporating findings into practice.
  • Oversees study and research related documentation developmentand distribution. Develops, recommends, modifies, and implementspolicies and procedure, and/or methods of clinical research to meetchanging needs and requirements and enforces standards. Effectivelyexecutes clinical elements of research protocol conduct based onpolicies and procedures. Identifies protocol or patient problems,informs investigators of problems, and resolves problems by makingprotocol modifications or adjustments to care plans.
  • Perform Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Health InsurancePortability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) protocol development andensures compliance of research operations with protocols with allrelevant local, federal, and state regulatory and institutionalpolicies.
  • Identifies and prepares research grants, publications inmedical and nursing literature, study materials, brochures, andcorrespondence.
  • Serves as a clinical training and curriculum lead for astatewide abortion and reproductive health training program,providing advanced clinical, educational, operational, and researchexpertise to support curriculum development, simulation-basedtraining, clinical site readiness, APC mentorship, programevaluation, and dissemination of training outcomes. The rolefunctions as a dedicated clinical link between program leadership,curriculum teams, project management staff, clinical trainingsites, faculty, preceptors, and trainees to support program growth,quality, and alignment with grant goals and evaluationmetrics.
  • Creates a cohesive work team that works collaboratively toachieve research goals. Oversees the recruitment, performance, andscheduling of team members and continually reviews strengths andweaknesses of staff to maintain a well-trained, highly involved,and motivated team. Instructs and trains research and nursing staffin scientific and procedural aspects of studies including standardsof care, informed consent procedures, and documentationprocedures.
  • Coordinates financial aspects of research project or clinicaltrial implementation from protocol feasibility through to studytermination.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve lines of communication betweenmembers of the research team. Fosters a cooperative relationshipbetween the members of the research team and support staff bycommunicating information; responding to requests; buildingrapport; participation in team problem-solving methods. Facilitatescollaboration with the research team at the University.
Qualifications :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master's in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing

Experience: Current national certification from AANPNCB orother national certifying body (requires 18 months under a NPmentor before becoming certified) is required.

Supervisory Experience: N/A

Certification/Licensure: Current Maryland license in goodstanding issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing to practice as anurse practitioner or appropriate federal district licensure whereresearch is conducted.

Licensed with specific patient population and/or specialty area ofresearch is required.

Other: May require training related to occupational safetyand health, environmental compliance, shipping of hazardousmaterials and/or ionizing radiation

HIRING RANGE:

$63,500 - $70,500 per year at 50% FTE /Commensurate with education and experience
