Job summary

Ochsner Health in Monroe, LA is seeking a highly qualified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Family or Adult/Geriatric NP) to provide primary and urgent care under supervision of Medical Director, collaborating with physicians and staff to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in nursing, APRN license in state, ANCC/AANPCP certification, BCLS/ACLS, prescriptive authority eligibility, and 3 years preferred. Travel between facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing is required.
• APRN license in the state of practice is required.
• Current BCLS/ACLS certification.
• Prescriptive authority eligibility as per state board.
• 3 years of related working experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the approved medical practices process in the delivery of all patient care.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
• Maintains an attitude of inquiry towards medical practices and patient care outcomes, and may develop research methodology.
• Provides education experiences to patient families, staff, other health professionals, and to the community.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to privacy, introduction to the patient, and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as required.
