Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health is seeking a Master’s‑level educated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to supervise and provide comprehensive care in a collaborative outpatient setting. The role includes teaching residents and medical students, patient education, and discharge planning within a complex care team.

Requirements include an APRN license in the state, Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric NP certifications, BCLS/ACLS, and eligibility for prescriptive authority.

Qualifications

• Requires Master’s degree in nursing.
• Must be licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
• BCLS/ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Eligible for prescriptive authority in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes approved medical practices in delivering patient care.
• Provides care addressing physical, psycho/social, educational and safety needs for patients across ages.
• Educates patients, families, staff and community about care.
• Adapts care to patient population while maintaining privacy and communication standards.
• Performs other related duties as required.
