Job summary

Chesapeake Cardiac Care is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient cardiology team. You will manage a diverse patient population in a clinic-based role with no hospital call and no inpatient rounding.

Responsibilities include performing comprehensive evaluations, diagnosing and managing cardiovascular conditions, ordering and interpreting ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and labs, and coordinating care with primary care and specialists.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland APRN license (CRNP) and national NP certification required.
• 3 to 5 years of NP experience in cardiology.
• Current BLS; ACLS preferred.
• DEA Registration and Maryland CDS registration, or ability to obtain before starting.
• Strong clinical judgement, communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations, histories, and physical exams for new and established cardiology patients.
• Diagnose and manage hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, ddyslipdemia, and other cardiovascular conditions.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on ECGS, echocardiograms, stress testing, ambulatory rhythm monitoring, and laboratory studies.
• Manage medications, including anticoagulation and guideline-directed therapy, and educate patients on prevention and lifestyle.
• Coordinate care with primary care, specialists, and hospital teams.
• Document accurately and promptly in the EHR, Athena.

Chesapeake Cardiac Care is an independent, physician-led cardiovascular and sleep medicine practice that has served Prince George's County and the surrounding region for more than 25 years. Our team delivers personalized, prevention-focused care in a collaborative, single-site outpatient setting.

About the Role

• Strong clinical judgement, communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered care

Preferred:

• Experience with athenaOne EHR is an asset

• Familiarity with cardiac imaging and stress testing workflows

• Interest in sleep medicine, preventive cardiology, or clinical research

Schedule:

• Full time, 8 hour days, outpatient clinic hours

• No weekend or hospital call
